When You Feel Out of Luck

Published by deborahlawwill at 12:28 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I find that recently I’ve come into a bit of ill luck. I was never a believer in fate or luck until I met my significant other. Many people, including my former self, say we make our own luck.

This is simply not true. Saying that we make our own luck is like saying that we have control over everything in our lives. We can’t control a hurricane or fire destroying our homes and if it does happen, I would call that bad luck. What we do control is how we react to it.

A more accurate statement is “We control our own actions”. We don’t control disasters, our families, or the way we grew up. But right here and right now, we’ve been given that power to control what we’re going to do about it. Are we going to turn that bad luck into something good? Or are we going to throw our hands up and say “Oh well”?

I’m a person who likes actions and I really think that God likes actions as well. Its what we do about our circumstances that really counts, how we handle them.
